Seller and Customer:
The Seller is The Somerset Deli Limited, registered in England and Wales No. 07958529. (“The Somerset Deli Ltd”, “we” or “us”). These terms and conditions (of which the Security and Privacy Policy form a part) apply to all orders which you, the customer (“you” or “your”) place using this website www.somersetdeli.co.uk for items ordered via the Internet.

Order process and registration:
Once you make an order, we will choose to accept it or not and will check your card details and your address. If we are satisfied then we will take payment from your card.
Goods are subject to availability. If we are unable to supply the goods, we will inform you of this as soon as possible and offer an alternative. If the alternative is not suitable then a full refund will be given if you have already paid for the goods.

We highly recommend you provide us with a correct e-mail address. In this case we will send you an order acknowledgement e-mail. This email does not constitute either a confirmation of the order or acceptance by us of the order.

Unless we have notified you that we do not accept your order we will then have entered into a contract, regardless of whether we may have debited your card or sent an acknowledgment e-mail.

The contract will be formed at the place of dispatch of the goods, namely the UK.

If you decide to register with us to purchase items using the Somerset Deli website, you will responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account username and password and for preventing unauthorised access to your account. You agree to accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account or password.

Please take all necessary steps to ensure that the username and password is kept confidential and secure. Please inform us immediately if you have any reason to believe that your username and/or password has become known to anyone else, or are being, or are likely to be, used in an unauthorised manner.

Please ensure the details you provide us with on registration are correct and complete and inform us immediately of any changes to those details (e.g. change of email or postal address). You can access and update your registration details by ‘logging in’ on the site.

You agree not to impersonate any other person or entity or to use a false name or a name that you are not authorised to use.

Products are invoiced in GBP sterling at the price prevailing at the time you place your order and are not inclusive of delivery fees unless otherwise stated.
All prices displayed on the Somerset Deli Website include Value Added Tax (VAT) which will be charged at the current rate when applicable.

Although we try to ensure that all prices on the Somerset Deli Website are accurate, errors may occur. If we discover an error in the price of items you have ordered, we will contact you as soon as possible. You will have the option of either reconfirming your order at the correct price or cancelling it. If we are unable to contact you, we will treat your order in respect of the incorrectly priced item as cancelled.

We reserve the right to update prices displayed on the Somerset Deli Website from time to time.


You may pay for the items which you order online with most major credit cards and debit cards using our secure online checkout. We regret that we cannot accept cheques or cash as payment online.

We can also now accept payments by PayPal & Bank Transfer.

Please note that we cannot guarantee the security of any data sent by email. Accordingly, please do not send us payment information via email. For details of the security measures we employ, please read our Privacy Policy.

 Gift Vouchers:
Customers paying for goods with Gift Vouchers.

Gift Vouchers can be redeemed on both the Web Site and at any of our Market Stalls held in the Somerset area.

  • Gift Vouchers are valid for a full 12 months from day of purchase.
  • A Discount Code will be issued for the use on the Web Site.
  • A letter with confirmation will be sent you in the post this can be used once on any of our Market stalls.
  • Gift vouchers can not be used for discounting shipping or delivery.

We aim to deliver all of our orders within 2 working days (Subject to Stock) from the day of ordering and no longer the 5 working days.

Our delivery times are for guidance and are not a guarantee. We cannot take responsibility for length of delivery time once an item is dispatched from us to our carrier.

Somerset Deli Ltd reserves the right to choose who we use to deliver our goods. All orders sent via Post of Courier will require a signature up on arrival. Please ensure that someone is available to sign for your order.

Orders for delivery within 2 working days must be placed no later than: 3pm.

Delivery Prices:
Orders placed via the web site for local delivery (5 Mile Radius of TA6 5LT) will be delivered the same day/Next working day (Subject to stock) and will be charged at £999/FREE.
All other deliveries that are required to be shipped out using a dedicated courier.

If you would like to delay delivery beyond 5 working days then choose an ideal delivery date in the box provided in the Checkout. We will ship the order the day before this date on a 24 hour courier service. If you select Saturday delivery we will attempt to ship your order by the first Saturday however if it cannot be sent due to stock or any other reason, we will ship the order in time for the following Saturday.

Delivery is sent overnight from us on a guaranteed next day delivery service. In most cases a signature is not required to acknowledge delivery. In order to give your cheese the best chance of getting to you in optimum condition we highly recommend adding a note in the box provided in the checkout of a suitable place to leave the order if you are not in or an alternative delivery address such as a nearby neighbour. NB this must be in the same street or within the immediate vicinity since a delivery to an extra address will be liable to an extra fee.

Please note. We do not deliver on the following days: Sundays.

If you wish to cancel your order, please contact our customer care team at webstore@somersetdeli.co.uk or by telephone on 01278 458846 between 08:00 and 20:00, Monday to Friday, and Saturday 08:00 to 13:00. As we try to process orders immediately, it may not always be possible to prevent an order from being dispatched. If your order has already been dispatched, you may
return the items to us in accordance with our Returns Policy.

Returns and Refunds:
Returns are accepted only if the goods are damaged. You must inform us within 24 hours from receipt by email or phone. We may request you return the item(s) to us in original, complete and undamaged packaging. If the item has not been returned to us in the original condition, we reserve the right to refuse a refund on the item. All returned goods must be accompanied by the delivery slip that accompanied the consignment.

In the case of damaged, faulty or goods mistakenly shipped, a receipt for the return postage should be included within the package for the cost to be refunded.

None of the above terms affects your statutory rights if goods are damaged or incorrectly supplied nor does it affect your rights under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations.

General Conditions in relation to the sale of goods to you:

  • All Goods remain the property of The Somerset Deli until payment is received in full. In the event of non-payment by the buyer in accordance with the terms agreed, the buyer hereby authorises The Somerset Deli to enter upon the buyers’ premises to remove the goods.
  • Dates given by Somerset Deli Ltd for the delivery of Goods are approximate only and do not form part of the Contract. Somerset Deli Ltd accept no liability for any loss consequential or otherwise rising from the delay.
  • Somerset Deli Ltd reserve the right to amend its prices without prior notice.
  • All prices quoted are exclusive of VAT and carriage, which will be charged at the current rate, where applicable.
  • Any alleged defects must be notified by the Buyer to Somerset Deli Ltd within 24 hours of delivery. Any defective goods should be held/Returned for inspection.
  • Complaints in respect of alleged defects will not be grounds for the Buyer to withhold payments, and give no right of set-off against payments due from the Buyer to Somerset Deli Ltd.
  • Goods of a type not normally held in stock, and therefore specially ordered, are non-returnable.
  • When you place an order to purchase a product from The Somerset Deli, we will send you an e-mail confirming receipt of your order and containing the details of your order. Your order represents an offer to us to purchase a product which is accepted by us at the time that your payment is taken. You will also receive an email confirming the dispatch and the acceptance of the order. No contract has been formed until this point.
  • The Company will use all reasonable endeavours to meet Customers’ individual requirements but the Company shall be under no obligation to accept cancellation or other amendment to any order or any part of an Order once accepted by the Company. Where such cancellation or amendment to an Order is agreed by the Company, it is on the understanding that a reasonable cancellation or amendment charge may be levied at the Company’s sole discretion.
  • Bladed items: It is an offence for any person under the age of 18 to purchase knives or bladed items. Somerset Deli Ltd will only supply bladed items to customers over the age of 18 years. Somerset Deli Ltd may request proof of age before transactions including these products are processed.  Somerset Deli Ltd reserve the right to refuse sale to any customer who we believe to be under age or who may represent a threat to themselves or others.
